Mercy and Gospel met on a warm evening after a busy day's work in 2022 after standing side by side looking for the next available rickshaw for what seemed like hours. Mercy found one and signalled Gospel to join in. They happened to highlight at the same bus-stop and got talking while strolling down the road to their house. They exchanged numbers and that was the beginning of something beautiful.
After exchanging phone numbers, we were eagerly awaiting the opportunity to meet again. It wasn't long before Gospel asked Mercy out on a date. We decided to meet at Premix Hotel, a cozy spot with a warm ambiance that seemed perfect for a first date. As Mercy walked into the hotel, she felt a rush of excitement and nervousness, not knowing what the evening had in store for her.
As the evening drew to a close, Gospel walked Mercy to the bolt car waiting outside the hotel, and we both said goodbye to each other, while hoping to see each other again soon.
After our initial meeting, Mercy and I entered what is commonly referred to as the "talking stage" of our relationship. This was a period of getting to know each other more deeply through open communication and quality time spent together.
Each day, we would talk for hours on the phone, learning small yet meaningful details about each other's lives, hopes, and dreams. The level of vulnerability we shared helped foster a strong bond of trust between us. Though we had not yet defined our relationship, it was clear to both of us that our connection was special.
Mercy and I embarked on a journey of love that began with heartfelt conversations and mutual understanding. As we moved past the talking stage, our connection deepened, leading to a profound realization that we had fallen in love. Our story unfolded in quiet moments and shared experiences, culminating in a love built on trust, vulnerability, and a quiet, unspoken understanding.
And so, guided by the beacon of our hearts' desires, we made the decision to embark on the sacred journey of marriage. For in each other's arms, we found a sanctuary where our souls could flourish, and in each other's eyes, we glimpsed the promise of a future filled with endless possibilities.
With every step we take towards the altar, we embrace the dawn of a new chapter, where love will be our guiding star and trust our steadfast anchor. Together, we vow to weather life's storms with courage and grace, to celebrate its joys with boundless enthusiasm, and to nurture the flame of our love with unwavering devotion.
